Over coffee yesterday morning, I delivered a brain child onto the Starbucks table next to my chai tea latte, and today I decided I needed to announce the birth to the world.
Years of writing has taught me many methods of how-NOT-to-market-your-book, so this effort is a brand-new-never-been-tried-by-me method, and I’m excited to see how it works. At the very least, I’ll get to see some cool artwork.
Here’s my idea:
If you’re a high school or undergrad college student, and you want a chance to get your artwork noticed, $50 change in your pockets, and a free t-shirt, here’s your chance to enter a competition.
The idea is to take the theme of my new release, MARK OF FOUR, and create your own logo based on the elements of Water, Fire, Air, and Earth. Starting on November 2 (Monday, y’all!), you have two weeks to come up with the very best image you can create, thinking, of course, outside the box, and submit it to me by November 15, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. EST at shoemakertama [at] gmail [dot] com.
After that, it gets even more fun. You get the chance to spread your artwork to far-reaching places as you ask everyone you know plus or minus a few for votes. The one person who has the most votes at the end of the time period (November 27, 2015 at midnight) wins.
And THEN, you get a week to show off your cool new t-shirt-for-sale to all your friends, family, and relatives, and of course, everyone will want one for Christmas presents. You’ll pocket your $50 cash when the shirts stop selling on December 4th, and you’ll walk away with a brand new t-shirt with YOUR logo on it and a free copy of my book, MARK OF FOUR.
Please note: any design you create, you keep the rights. This is not a contest for me to gain a brand for my book.
If you have any questions, any at all, travel up to the purple menu bar at the top of the screen and click on Art Contest. Hopefully your questions will be answered there, and if they’re not, feel free to shoot me a line under the Contact Me tab.
It’ll be FUN! I’m excited. I hope you’ll consider entering. Or at least sharing about this with someone who would be interested. π Please remember, high school or undergraduate college age only. I’m looking forward to seeing the artwork!
Great idea!
